Wedding Celebrant

As a wedding celebrant, I offer a pause, time to clarify your promises and your story and co-create with you, the couple, a ceremony that is uniquely, meaningfully yours and engaging for your guests. .

Whether signing your marriage certificate with two guests at your favorite location or engaging 200 guests with a ceremony that intentionally and craftfully reflects and reveals you and your relationship, I guide you through the creation of your ceremony through discussions, questionnaires, writing exchanges, suggestions, resources, inspiration and more.

My Process

I like to begin with an initial conversation, which is free, to talk about yours hopes and dreams for your ceremony, who may be involved, the and the elements that could be included your ceremony. This also allows us to get to know each other, ask questions and share ideas.

After the initial meeting, we sign an Agreement and establish a timeline, A 50% retainer is also due with the signed Agreement.

Once the business is taken care of, we begin to work on your ceremony. I share ample examples and inspirations for each elements of your ceremony. as well as questionnaires to help me understand each of you and your relationship. Together, through email exchange, I write and develop the first draft of your ceremony. Then we meet again to refine it.

After our first draft meeting, I make the changes and rewrites that we have discussed and provide you a second draft. Again, mostly through emails, we further refine your ceremony, until it delights you! Once you feel it is ready, we meet one more time to go through a virtual rehearsal, walking through all the elements together so we are comfortable.

Of course, you have complete say over all elements of your ceremony. I simply use my education and experience in writing, ritual and ceremony creation, and public relations to help bring your vision alive in a ceremony that engages your quests and meets all necessary legal requirements.

THE WONDER WITHIN THE PROCESS

The couples I work tend to be become fully engaged in the ceremony creation process, and tell me how enriching the journey is to their relationship . The process offers an opportunity to contemplate what the ceremony means to them, what their hopes are for it, and to discuss ways, through aspects of the ceremony development, to capture that meaning as they move from single to married.

A fabulous side effect of this engaged process of ceremony creation, is a powerful ceremony.. I am not a marriage counselor, but being part of this process of a couple-focused ceremony touches me profoundly. It also seems to bring much of the earnest and thoughtful weight to secular (non-religious) ceremonies.

While I provide fees, I recommend a consultation so I can more fully understand your hopes for the ceremony and what will make it amazing.

LOCATIONS

Aspiring for a ceremony to be as unique as each of you and your commitment to shared love and living, I will ask you why you chose your location to learn how it informs the ceremony.

If, unlike most, you are looking at officiants before you have selected location, please consider all locations that are significant to you. Here in the Midwest, there are truly countless magical parks and venues, especially those in the heart of the cities, in the woods or by water. (I am working on a intriguing location list-ones I have or would love to create a ceremony in.) Perhaps, your spot is a concert, a remote barn, on a boat or train, in a field, or at a festival (Ren Fest, Winter Carnival . Pride Fest, Art Fairs). Your day, your celebration of love.

Fully Personalized Ceremony up to $750

The Fully Personalized Ceremony is the most in-depth wedding ceremony. It offers total personalization and includes your love story as the centerpiece of the ceremony. The fee includes travel to any location within 30 minutes/miles of celebrant. Additional fee to travel to a further location. Features:

Ceremony approximately 25-30 minutes in length (not including Processional and Recessional)
Materials and files shared including customizable wording samples, readings resources, vow and ring exchange resources, unity ritual resources
Full customization, including development of unique ritual
Three meetings, virtual or in-person, including virtual rehearsal
Unlimited emails
Assistance writing vows
Detailed questionnaires to assist with personalization

This is a fabulous choice for full-scale weddings without the detailed love story. The fee includes travel to any location within 30 minutes/miles of celebrant. Additional fee to travel to a further location. Features:

Ceremony approximately 15-20 minutes in length (not including Processional and Recessional)
Materials and files shared including customizable wording samples, readings resources, vow and ring exchange resources, unity ritual resources
Full customization, including a unity ritual
Two meetings, virtual or in-person, including virtual rehearsal
Unlimited emails
Assistance writing vows
Detailed questionnaires to assist with personalization
Assistance with marriage license application
Experienced, professional Celebrant assisting with all elements of ceremony

Intimate Ceremony/Microwedding $450

The Intimate Ceremony is suggested for couples who are having a smaller wedding and are looking for a more intimate ceremony. This option is for weddings with under 30 guests and includes travel to any location within 30 minutes/miles of celebrant. Additional fee to travel to a further location. Features:

Ceremony approximately 10-15 minutes in length (not including Processional and Recessional)
Materials and files shared including customizable samples, including suggested readings, vow and ring exchanges, unity rituals
Up to two meetings, virtual or in-person
Unlimited emails
Assistance writing vows
